In summer, the fire hazard is considerably aggravated. In hot weather, citizens escape the heat by going to the river or forest. However, unfortunately, forest visitors often forget that they are guests there. Then, at best, consumer interests of would-be vacationers result in piles of garbage, and at worst – in massive forest fires. Consequences of the latter come at a high cost not only for Transcarpathian flora and fauna and of course, forestries, but sometimes also for health and even life of people.
Often the cause of forest fires is the human factor. Burning of dry grass, a cigarette butt, bonfire, failure to observe fire safety while vacationing in the forest can cause real environmental disaster.
In this regard, the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region calls residents of the region not to burn stubble in fields, refrain from going to the forest in such a hot weather.
To prevent a possible fire, you need to know and observe the following rules:
– Not to make a fire in coniferous young forests, in places with dry grass, in the forest areas where there are a lot of fallen trees and in forest belts. Before leaving a forest, put out a fire with water or earth.
– Do not throw burning matches and cigarette butts on the ground.
– Do not smoke or use open fire near flammable substances and materials.
