Representatives of the employment center commented on the prospects on the labor market in the coming years

In Uzhgorod city employment center, there was a "round table" on "Relevant issues of employment of persons with additional guarantees in employment. The strategy of modernization and development of the employment service for the period of 2016-2020."

  Most of the questions raised concerned issues of employment of orphans and persons with disabilities. They talked about the interaction with educational institutions, social partners, enterprises, effective cooperation of the employment center with employers to fill vacancies with professional staff.

  The director of Uzhgorod Employment Center Serhiy Oleksiyuk said: "Now we teach those who come to the employment center to write resumes that would immediately let employers know if the job-seeker is right for them or not. It is somewhat difficult, but people want to do it because there are visible results. In general, people are actively interested in the labor market, their employment. However, there are those who are not really interested in finding a real job."

  As it became known during the round table, now in Uzhgorod, there is a shortage of teachers of primary schools, handicrafts, music, geography, Hungarian language.

In addition, there is a traditional shortage of skilled labour. Representatives of colleges and vocational schools stressed that today representatives of such professions often earn much more than university graduates, because, for example, the starting salary of a teacher is 1400 UAH. Most colleges students are among those who have additional guarantees of employment and find jobs even before the end of training.

  The participants of the meeting also raised the problem of employment of children’s homes graduates. Such young people are not always motivated to work and make money on their own. Of course, there is also a problem of housing for them.

  During 2016, 1,597 people benefited from the services of Uzhgorod city employment center. The majority of service users are women. Today, 698 unemployed persons are registered. With the assistance of the employment service, 465 people were employed for vacant and new jobs, including 183 registered unemployed.

This year, there were 430 registered unemployed persons having additional guarantees of employment, of which 80 registered unemployed have been employed.

In 2016, 548 vacancies have been registered.
