Representative of the Chinese energy company became interested in Transcarpathia and Uzhgorod plant

The president of the Lotosland New Energy Corporation (China) Xiong Jian visited Transcarpathia.

Today, July 24, a representative of the energy company from the People’s Republic of China, Xiong Jian, was in Transcarpathia. The purpose of visiting our region is to establish cooperation.

Today, there are 3 registered enterprises with foreign investments of Chinese origin in the region. The total amount of investments received from China for the entire period of investment activity is almost 0.1 million US dollars or 0.02% (of the total volume of foreign direct investment), the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional Council reported.

They also inform that the guest from China met with the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis. The meeting was attended by the first deputy chairman of the Regional Council Yosyp Borto, the head of the Department of Applied Physics of the Faculty of Physics of UzhNU, professor, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences Ivan Nebola, the executive director of the Charitable Foundation "Hope in Art" Yuriy Stryzhko and others.

Mykhailo Rivis thanked for coming to our region and noted that China is an important partner for Ukraine and effectively cooperates in many industries. Transcarpathia is also interested in cooperation.

Xiong Jian noted that he was recommended to visit our region by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Ukraine with a proposition to establish cooperation. He said that our region stands out for its richness of resources, unique geographical location, the proximity of borders. 

"We are very interested in cooperation with Transcarpathia. We successfully develop new energy-saving technologies – solar power, geothermal and hydrogen plants. And we are ready to discuss cooperation in these areas, as well as the issue of the establishment of a joint Ukrainian-Chinese company based at the Uzhgorod Turbogaz plant," – Xiong Jian said.       

Chinese guests also spoke in detail about the Lotosland New Energy Corporation, which uses geothermal energy and other new energy technologies to provide energy-saving services for new and old buildings, including installation, consulting, research and development, sales, and servicing. The company is registered in Shanghai.

"We are constantly looking for opportunities to save budget funds, in particular in the area of ​​retrofitting existing boiler-houses in public institutions of the region, which still use natural gas. And we are interested in developing "thermal" infrastructure in kindergartens and schools and supporting those projects that will save us money for these purposes. But the truth is that there are no financial resources for such big projects in local budgets, but if local businesses are interested, then we will promote such cooperation," – Mykhailo Rivis said. And he added: Transcarpathian region was one of the first to abandon uneconomic centralized heating and is steadily reducing gas consumption and seeking alternative fuels from biogas to solar power.
