Starting October 1, cars must drive on non-urban roads with headlights switched on even during the day. This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The main purpose of this requirement is reducing the risk of accidents on non-urban roads by additional designation of moving vehicles.
"The norm is effective in Ukraine from October 1 to May 1. During this period, due to reduced daylight hours and weather conditions, there is a necessity to improve the visibility of cars for pedestrians and other road users," – the Department of the STI of the MIA of Ukraine notes.
