In late August, in Transcarpathian region, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a military officer who had devised an illegal scheme of misappropriation of soldiers’ money.
Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine recorded the major of a mechanized battalion receiving from a soldier $ 350 for mitigation of requirements to the performance of military duties. Also, the officer, during three months, was misappropriating the salary of another soldier under forged letter of trust, causing the soldier to lose wages totaling 4,500 UAH.
The Prosecutor of the Western region of Ukraine for compliance with the laws in the defense sector registered the offense in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations. The officer was notified of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art.410, Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 1 of Art.358, Part 3, 4 of Art.358 and Part 4 of Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the officer is suspended from his duties. Pretrial investigation continues.
