Members of the Transcarpathian Regional Council appealed to the State Border Service of Ukraine about the timely rotation of servicemen of Mukachevo and Chop border guard detachments who are serving on the eastern borders of our country and taking part in the anti-terrorist operation.
"Given the complexity of the political situation in the country, the regional council in
its appeals expresses a clear position on the preservation of sovereignty and
territorial integrity of Ukraine, condemns the actions of the aggressor and
separatists, makes all possible efforts to ensure peace in our
region.
Deputies of the Regional Council, taking into account the needs of the present time,
decided to allocate 9 million hryvnias to fund the Program for
logistical support of the 4th Territorial Defense Battalion,
military units and other participants of the antiterrorist operation. In
addition, the Regional Council has allocated from the budget 100,000 UAH to families
of each soldier from the region who have been killed in the ATO area. Another decision
was adopted on June 26 at the special session – an appeal to
the top government officials demanding the rotation of Transcarpathian soldiers,
taking part in the anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine.
In order to strengthen the eastern section of the state
boder (in Donetsk and Luhansk regions) in the area of
the anti-terrorist operation, in March 2014,
742 soldiers were sent there from Transcarpathia. Now, 217 soldiers of the
Mukachevo border guard detachment, and 192 soldiers of the Chop border guard
detachment are deployed in the ATO area. Recently, another 153 soldiers of the
military commandant of the said border detachments were sent there.
The most pressing issues for families of border guards are social problems and
issues related to leaves for soldiers, who for a long time
have been serving on the eastern borders of Ukraine.
We, members of the Regional Council, on behalf of all local
government and executive bodies of Transcarpathia, supporting numerous
appeals of the community and families of Transcarpathian border guards, including
those, who for several months have been staying in "hot spots" in the East of
Ukraine, bravely performing their military duties,
demand timely rotation of the servicemen of the Mukachevo and
Chop border guard detachment who are serving on the eastern borders
of our country and taking part in the anti-terrorist operation", – the appeal reads.
