Regional Council dismissed the chief editor of the “Novyny Zakarpattya” and the director of the airport

After some discussion, members of the Transcarpathian Regional Council voted for the dismissal of the chief editor of the newspaper "Novyny Zakarpattya". The motivation is that the contract of Vitaliy Yaschyschak, who has long been heading the publication of the Regional Council and the Regional State Administration, has long expired. The proposition of fellow deputies to listen to the chief editor and to consider the situation with the reform of the municipal newspaper (the governor currently has not responded to the letter from the "Novyny Zakarpattya") was not supported. Rumor has it that the chief editor of Ratushniak’s "RIO" has his sights set on this position. As for the airport "Uzhgorod", in order to restore of a large part of the airport infrastructure, the regional administration jointly with the "International Airport "Uzhgorod" has developed and submitted the projects to the competitiion of investment programs that can be implemented at the expense of the state Regional Development Fund in 2016. Nearly UAH 2 million was allocated from the regional budget to ensure a standardized level of aviation safety in the airport.

The changes were made at the meeting of the Transcarpathian Regional Council.

At the same meeting, the deputies dismissed the director of the airport.

Thus, the regional deputies voted for the draft decision on the International Airport "Uzhgorod", which provides for the dismissal of its director Volodymyr Horynetsky. The motivation is the same: the contract has expired, and the Security Service of Ukraine has not renewed his authorised access to state secrets.
