The "Red wine" festival has become the visit card of Transcarpathia long ago. Moreover, it is an international celebration. People have been organising it annually for the Old New Year since 1996. The wine of the harvest of the previous year acquires its best qualities at this time.
The celebration has begun with a festive walk and a theatrical performance of the artists of the Transcarpathian Drama and Comedy Theatre near the city Christmas-tree. The walk continued to the "Peremoha" park. Here the festival was opened on a constructed stage.
This year the "Red wine" festival is being held in the "Peremoha" park that has been specially updated for this purpose. A festive town has been built of wooden houses here. A special degustation team has selected the wine for the visitors to taste the best types. In general, the best 40 winemakers of the area take part in the festive competition.
