Among the representatives of the authorities, who came out today to Transcarpathian protesters, there was a former mayor of Uzhgorod Serhiy Ratushnyak. He spoke on behalf of the authorities, calling for peace, – the correspondent of the Zaholovok.com.ua informed.
Also Ratushnyak, who had not been seen on public events, not to mention Euromaidan rallies for a long time, sang the anthem. He began the speech by calling for understanding. But then, seeing the dissatisfied reaction to the speech from the crowd, he expressed dissatisfaction with the current regime.Video of the former mayor singing the anthem was posted on youtube by Uzhgorod resident Serhiy Denysenko.
Protesters booed speeches of the officials. The mayor of Uzhgorod V.Pogorelov was booed the most – the newspaper writes.
For now, the rally near RSA building is clearly divided into two camps. Policemen are standing between them. Supporters of PR shout to opponents, "Go home." In response they shout, "Shame."
They started throughing snowballs at supporters of the PR. Abusive words are heard from both sides.
Journalist Vitaliy Hlahola wrote: "The two camps are trowing snowballs and shouting at each other. The first flares and firecrackers flew to the RSA building. They brought a barrel for heating and firewood. While people were distracted, policemen stole them and fled."
