Public sector employees in Uzhgorod receive wages on time

Medical workers and teachers in Uzhgorod have received wages for January on time – the financial department of Uzhgorod City Council informed. 

In January, the city received from the state budget the subvention for education in amount of 7,962,500 UAH, of which 6,311,700 UAH was used to pay wages. The subvention for medical industry amounted to 6,833,700 UAH, 5,457,700 UAH was used to pay wages. 

In February, they have also received funds: 4,555,700 UAH for medical industry and 5,120,900 UAH for education. The money for the salaries has been transferred, payments for the first half of February are being made. 

The only problem is that public sector employees insist on raising payments by indexing. On this issue, Uzhgorod city officials, as well as local governments of other cities have appealed to the Parliament of Ukraine. On February 23, the Draft Law on Amendments to Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On Indexation of Income" was registered to abolish restrictions on the indexation of pensions. Until there is no appropriate decision of the deputies or the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, we can only wait.
