The Court of Appeal of Transcarpathian region upheld the legal position and justification of claims of the prosecutors of Transcarpathian region, leaving unchanged the decision of Beregovo district court, which upheld nine claims in the interest of the state represented by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Administration and the Mukachevo border guard detachment to cancel orders of the Main Department of the State Land Agency in the region, whereby citizens acquired ownership of the land being a part of the state border.
The area of the land, that was returned by the court order, is 17 hectares. Thus, the infringed right of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to use the disputed land aimed was restored.
There are 19 more lawsuits pending in courts over 30 hectares of the state border strip which concern similar violations regarding the disposal of land.
