February 19, a forester of Poroshkovo Forestry reported to law enforcement officers that the residents of the village of Turya Bistra arbitrarily set the barrier and prevented the trucks to transport timber from the Poroshkovo forestry.
The management of the SE "Perechyn forestry" assure that they have all the necessary documents for the development of cutting areas. The information about this fact has been registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations.
That same day, residents of the village of Turya Bistra also filed a written statement with Perechyn District Police in which they request to take measures to establish the legality of commercial timber harvesting by the Perechyn Forestry. The villagers explain their actions by saying that due to the traffic of trucks with wood, the road and their wells are damaged. The police registered this fact too and started preliminary investigations under this proceeding.
Currently, according to Perechyn interdistrict prosecutor Oleksandr Bratyuk, they are checking the legality of logging operations by Perechyn State Forestry and the the above mentioned related circumstances. The progress in this preliminary investigation proceedings is taken under control of the Perechyn district prosecution.
