Prosecutors are investigating the case of corrupt officials in forestry

Prosecutors found out that officials of the Transcarpathian regional administartion of forestries and agricultural farms had caused the state damages in large amount. 

January 16 this year, they included to the Unified register of pre-trial investigations the information, indicating that during 2011 – the first half of 2012, officials of SE "Transcarpathian regional administration of forestries and agricultural farms" and some of its branches committed criminal offenses under Part 2 of Art. 364 (abuse of power or position), Part 3 of Art. 365 (abuse of power or authority), Part 2 of Art. 367 (negligence), Part 2 of Art. 210 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misuse of budget funds, spending budget or loans from the budget without established budget allocations or exceeding them).

According to the head of the department of protection of human rights and state interests in the environmental field Ivan Kostiv, the inspection, conducted by regional prosecutor’s office at the State Enterprise "Transcarpathian regional administration of forestries and agricultural farms" and some of its branches, revealed that during 2011 and first half of 2012 officials of the Administration and some of its branches committed numerous violations of environmental legislation concerning the conservation and protection of forest resources, as well as in the budget field, resulting in public interest suffering damage in large amount.
