Prosecutor’s Office notified the head of the State Emergencies Service Office department of the suspicion of receiving 21,000 UAH of undue advantage

The investigator for particularly important cases of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region notified the head of the department of the State Emergencies Service Office in Transcarpathian region of the suspicion of committing a criminal offenses under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie receiving of undue advantage by an official through abuse of office and extortion.

According to the head of the Investigation Department of the regional Prosecutor’s Office Ivan Bitlyan: "The pre-trial investigation found out that in early July, prosecutors of Transcarpathian region together with officers of the OCD of the MIA Office in Transcarpathian region detained the head of the department of the State Emergencies Service Office in Transcarpathian region, who had demanded and received 21,000 UAH of undue advantage from a Transcarpathian. The officer demanded this amount from the director of one of the regional companies in return for approval of acts of commissioning of a hotel-restaurant complex facilities.

        This criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit by an official combined with extortion) was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations.

       The suspect was detained according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, and therefore the court imposed a pre-trial restraint on him – 60,000 UAH bail.

        Now the official faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with confiscation of property and with a special confiscation.
