President of the National Bank of Ukraine Council wants that currency were exchanged only in banks

The NBU belive that in Ukraine currency exchange should be carried out exclusively in banking institutions.
This was stated by the head of the NBU Council Igor Prasolov – informed the newspaper "Den".
"I believe that, like in the civilized world, in Ukraine exchange operations must be carried out by banks directly controlled by the National Bank" – said Prasolov.
He believes that currency panic is often provoked by exchangers. "In two cases of high wave of panic that we’ve seen this fall, exchangers played far from better role" – said the financier.
Prasolov said that in the future banks will continue the policy of reducing quantity of such agent exchangers.
Earlier, the head of the NBU Council Igor Prasolov said that he opposed the introduction of the exchange rate band in Ukraine.
As reported, the National Bank is ready to abandon the fixed exchange rate.
