The President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, instructed the Minister of Defense to raise the salaries for servicemen of the mountain assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said that during the working visit to Transcarpathian region, the Transcarpathian Legion informs with reference to the Presidential Administration.
"I am instructing the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak to raise the salaries for the mountain assault fighters and equate them with the fighters of the airborne assault troops. Raise the salaries by 23%," – the Head of the State said at the solemn events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the proclamation of Carpathian Ukraine and the battle of Krasne Pole. "They are a true elite of the Ukrainian army," – the President added.
The Supreme Commander also ordered to take measures to improve the infrastructure of military units and to build new modern housing blocks for the servicemen of the mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also instructed the Minister to sign the relevant orders.
"Thanks to Transcarpathia for the strong support for the Ukrainian Army! Thanks to all volunteers, soldiers – to all those who defended your beautiful land and whole Ukraine from the enemy", – Petro Poroshenko said.
