Pottery Days in Uzhgorod Skansen (PHOTOS)

As we announced, Pottery Days are taking place in Uzhgorod Skansen.

This weekend, Uzhgorod residents and visitors are invited to feel the "living" clay in their hands and to make beautiful things with a good mood and positive energy.

In the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, famous potter from Irshava Oleksandr Dvorak is conducting master classes on this ancient and beautiful craft. Sasha – a hereditary potter – reproduces traditional techniques, forms and ornaments in the manufacture of ceramic items. He is the successor to the traditions of the Transcarpathian school of pottery and famous potters Mykhailo and Ivan Halas from the village of Vilkhivka in Irshava district. 

The visitors will be able not only to see the work of the master, but also to work at the potter’s wheel themselves, to make their own clay product – a cup, a bowl or a jug. In addition, museum visitors will be able to buy original pottery products from Oleksandr Dvorak. The Pottery Days take place from 11.30 to 17.30 in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, Uzhgorod – the museum inform.
