Poroshenko instructed to give the money saved during the election for the army

The President Petro Poroshenko instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to allocate the money saved during the presidential election for support of the Armed Forces and the immediate needs of the soldiers participating in the antiterrorist operation.

This was reported by the Ukrainska Pravda, citing the official website of the President.

The President said that in view of the fact that the election took place without the need for re-vote, the saved budget funds amounted to over 600 million hryvnia.

Given this, the Poroshenko suggested the government to use these funds to finance the army.

In particular, for the improvement of weapons, providing Ukrainian soldiers with protection means, necessary equipment and so on.

In turn, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, the Prime Minister Yatsenyuk on behalf of Poroshenko ordered to take the appropriate decision of the government.

Yatsenyuk noted that, according to the final estimate of the CEC, the total savings amounted to 575 million hryvnia.
