Greenhouses as far as eyes can see. In the villages of the Borzhava river valley in Transcarpathia, agricultural works are in full swing. This was written by the OPINION.
Here, they grow early vegetables, mostly cabbage. The villages of Zarichchia and Siltse are the main suppliers of early vegetables to Ukrainian markets. Agricultural works here begin immediately after Christmas holidays, and they start selling vegetables as early as in May.
Now, they are planting cabbage in open ground, complaining about late spring. And in large heated greenhouses, which are called "hangars" here, it will ripen a couple of weeks sooner.
In total, they gather at least three harvests per year: after the cabbage, it will be the time for sweet pepper, and then eggplants, tomatoes and other vegetables. And although farmers in Irshava district use the latest agricultural technologies, such as high quality Dutch seeds, fertilizers and cultivators, the most important thing is the human labor.
