From 7 to 10 of September, the VIII International Poetry Festival MERIDIAN CZERNOWITZ will be held in Chernivtsi. It will be attended by authors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Romania, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine.
For the first time, there will be the Interregional Youth Stage at the festival – a project that is supported by the International Fund "Renaissance" as part of the competition "Cultural diplomacy for the sake of dialogue." The participation in it will be open to young Ukrainian authors (under 30) from Donetsk, Luhansk, Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi, Odesa and Kherson regions, who will be pre-selected and in September will present their work at the VIII International Poetry Festival MERIDIAN CZERNOWITZ in Chernivtsi. The winners will take part in the festival on September 7. The moderator of event will be Serhiy Zhadan.
The jury will select two participants from each of the above listed region. In total, 12 young poets will take part in the project. The winners’ works will be translated into German.
To apply for participation in the contest send the following documents at molodizhna@meridiancz.com:
- The completed application form. Put "Meridian Czernowitz-2017" in the subject line.
- The selection of your poems (Ukrainian or Russian), which should include up to 20 texts.
Deadline for submission of applications is July 2, 2017. The organizer pays the travel expenses of the participants (two-way tickets for train or bus) and provides accommodation in Chernivtsi .
The results will be published on August 1 on the official website www.meridiancz.com and page www.facebook.com/meridiancz
