The Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region approved and sent to court an indictment against an officer of Ilnytsya Forestry of the NNP “Zacharovany Krai” who, through abusing his official position, illegally cut down trees in the territory entrusted to him.
During the investigation, they collected the evidence that the suspect, abusing his official position, had illegally cut down 84 trees in the territory of the national nature park, while, in accordance with his official duties, being in charge of their preservation.
The forester did not register this timber with the intention of giving it to third parties free of charge.
According to experts, the amount of losses caused to the state by the illegal actions of the forestry worker is over 188 thousand hryvnias.
The actions of the suspect are classified under Part 1 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or office).
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region. The prosecutor’s office of the region provided procedural control over the course of the investigation, the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Transcarpathian region reported.
