Plum jam will be made at the festival in the village of Hecha (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On August 24, the traditional plum jam festival will be held in the village of Hecha, Beregovo district
The festival is unique, first of all, because it gives the opportunity to see long-standing national traditions related to plum jam and dishes based on it. The traditional Transcarpathian plum jam is cooked according to a special recipe on an open fire in a large cauldron. The process takes 7-8 hours and sometimes even 24. The program of the festival: 7.00 – preparation, installation of cauldrons, plum washing; 9.00 – preparation for the jam cooking process; 9.00-19.00 – tasting and purchase of dishes with a jam; 13.00 – contest for the most delicious Hungarian dish in the nominations: bograch-goulash, Hungarian fish soup, goulash with beans, stuffed cabbage; 14.00 – grand opening of the festival; 17.00 – announcement of th winners of the national dish cooking conts; 18.00 – announcement of the winners of the jam cooking contest; 20.00 – dance till dawn.
