Places of interest in Transcarpathia: Hamora – the only operating water smithy in Ukraine (VIDEO)

A historical monument of the 18th century. Located on the Lysychanka river in the village of Lysychovo, Irshava district ⠀
The name "Hamora" comes from German Hammer – "hammer". The exact founding date is unknown. ⠀
In 1760’s, the powerful paper factory of Count László Teleki was located there. ⠀ ⠀
Hamora has been working as a smithy since 1850, when Count Teleki founded the Dovhe-Lysychovo ironworks

Agricultural equipment is still being made there.
