Photographs of lost Transcarpathia will be presented in the regional museum of folk architecture

On October 18, in the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, there will be the presentation of the book "Towns and villages in the Carpathians" by Czech researcher, journalist, photographer Florian Zapletal. The book was published in the "Oleksandr Harkusha Publishing House."

The book includes the complete collection of photographs by Florian Zapletal made in 1921-1925 in the towns and villages of Transcarpathia, which at that time was a part of Czechoslovakia – the publishers inform. "The author captured our towns and villages, castles and stone churches, peasants and village houses, outbuildings and covered bridges – the diverse Transcarpathia, which is now almost entirely lost."

The book is a continuation of the publication "Wooden Churches of Transcarpathia", which was also published by this publishing house.

Also, during the presentation, there will be an exhibition of photographs by Florian Zapletal provided by the inheritor of his archive – academician, professor Mykola Mushinka (Presov, Slovakia).
