Pharmacy and property misappropriation in Uzhgorod resulted in lost millions (OPINION)

This is the conclusion our contributor Yaroslav Kozich came to having analyzed the advertisement of the Municipal Economy Department of Uzhgorod City Council, published in the newspaper "Uzhgorod", № 25 (718) dd. July 6, 2013.

According to it,

– The pharmacy in area of ​​133.9 sq. m. at Drugetiv street, 71 was sold for 231,396 UAH (213 USD per 1 sq. m.);

– The pharmacy in area of ​​259 sq.m. at 8 Bereznya street, 30 was sold for 455,466 UAH (213 USD per 1 sq. m.);

– The pharmacy in area of 120,8 sq.m. at Svoboda Avenue, 18 was sold for 272,372 UAH (278 USD per 1 sq. m.).

Given the fact that commercial facilities in this part of Uzhgorod are offered for at least 1,000 USD per square meter, and properties on Liberty Avenue – for at least 2,000 USD, we can assume that the cost of Uzhgorod pharmacies was understated by almost 3,650,000 UAH, the author says.
