Perechyn policeman was caught on UAH 10,000 bribe

January 25, Perechyn district police sergeant received part of the agreed amount of bribes – 9,000 UAH to deliver it to the investigator of the same police department, for not bringing a citizen D. to criminal liability (over him causing bodily harm to his cohabitant).

They were caught on the commission of a criminal offense by the officers of Transcarpathian regional police department.   The suspects were detained unnder Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. Prosecutor’s office ensured control over the pretrial investigation.

Investigator for especially important cases entered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations the information about the criminal offense under Part 3. of Art. 368 of the CC of Ukraine (bribe taking by an official who holds a responsible position, combined with extortion – punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with confiscation of property) over the extortion of UAH 10,000 bribe by officers of Perechyn district police department in the Transcarpathian region.
