Transcarpathian regional prosecutor’s office approved and forwarded to the court the indictment in the criminal proceeding over a fatal accident committed by the now former head of Perechyn District State Administration, the site of the Transcarpathian prosecutor’s office informs.
As it was established during the pre-trial investigation, on July 13, 2018, the suspect, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, being in the state of intoxication, hit two local residents.
As a result of the road accident, the women aged 66 and 70 were seriously injured and later died in the hospital.
The suspect was charged with a crime according to Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. violation of traffic safety rules by a person driving a vehicle that caused the death of several persons.
For committing this crime, he faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term up to three years.
