Today, People’s Artist of Ukraine, Honorary Academician of the NAAU, a resident of Mukachevo Zoltan Mychka died at the age of 67 – the Mukachevo.net informed.
Lately. the artist has been seriously ill. According to preliminary information, the known artist’s funeral will take place tomorrow, the time is TBA.
In 1972, he graduated from the designer department of Odesa Regional House of Folk Art.
He has been a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1984. Participated in regional and national art exhibitions since 1973, in international – since 1987. Participated in international symposiums and plein airs.
In the 1990s Zoltan Mychka and Ivan Brovdi suggested to turn the Consumer Service Center in Mukachevo into the city art gallery. At the end of his term, the Mayor Vasyl Iltyo accepted the proposition, and thus Mukachevo art gallery with the exhibition area of 200 sq. m. was established in the city center. The gallery regularly hosts cultural events, meetings, presentations, workshops and more.
