Young poets, volunteers, librarians and other people gathered in the cozy hall of the regional library. The event was timed to the Day of the Defender of Ukraine, which was celebrated on October 14.
The event was moderated by the head of the service department of the Transcarpathian Regional Library Yevhenia Napuda.
The evening started with a lecture about the importance and significance of the holiday of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin to our people and why this day was chosen as the Day of the Defender of Ukraine. The participants honored the fallen heroes of Ukraine with a minute of silence, and employees of the Department of Local Lore prepared a thematic exhibition and a complete list of Transcarpathians who have died for peace in our country.
The participants recited patriotic and lyrical poems. The library workers recited poems of contemporary Ukrainian poets and classics.
For the first time in the history of the library, there was a skype presentation of the book – a poetry collection "The Sky with Us" by Kostyantin Blazhko, a participant of the ATO. The author of the book told about himself and his book and noted that it included poems written when he was in the East of Ukraine.
Despite the distance, the event turned out to be sincere and touching. Candles, patriotic songs, videos about the war, openness and sincerity of the participants added to the special atmosphere.
Mariana Nychka,
librarian of the service department of the Transcarpathian Universal Scientific Library named after F.Potushnyak.
