Passenger trains to the Crimea and back run in accordance with the timetable for 2013 – 2014. No train to the peninsula has been canceled. Delays in the traffic of trains are caused by unauthorized inspections of trains by the so-called "self-defense" of the Crimea.
In particular, at the station Djankoi, they conduct unauthorized control of passenger trains, running to the Crimean peninsula, as well as random checks in trains from the Crimea. These checks result in delays on average of 15 – 50 minutes.
At stations Vadim, Kherson, Melitopol, border control of trains in both directions is carried out by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The delay of trains is 10 to 50 min.
Recall that to meet the needs of passengers in railroad transportation during the Easter holidays, the Ukrainian Railways have arranged for additional trains from Kyiv to Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolayiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Uzhgorod, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Kremenchuk, Poltava, as well as from Kharkiv to Uzhgorod.
Tickets for all additional trains are already on pre-sale. Tickets can be purchased at railway ticket offices and through the UZ online system booking.uz.gov.ua.
The Ukrainian Railways constantly analyze the demand for passenger rail transportation and arrange for additional trains and increases the number of rides to most popular destinations. The Ukrainian Railways are currently working on the arrangement for additional trains to the May holidays.
