Paid parking lots will be arranged on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod – the Mayor

One of the biggest problems in the city is illegal parking, resulting in large traffic congestion.  Streets, sidewalks, lawns turn into parking lots.

This problem is especially prevalent on Svoboda Avenue, Petofi Square, on Shvabska, Koryatovich, Kapushanska, Fedynets streets, – the "Novyny Zakarpattya" informs.

This problem has existed for a long time. The reasons are the lack of road signs, road markings and high-quality road surfaces. Repairs of roads on Stantsiyna, Lehotsky streets and Petofi Square also hinder the traffic.

Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv calls on police officers to fine unscrupulous drivers who park in wrong places.It is also reported that paid parking lots will be arranged on Narodna Square. 

Drivers argue that there are no parking spaces, underground parking, and the number of vehicles is increasing every day, everyone needs to park somewhere, so they have no choice. But they still admit that this hinders the traffic. People also believe that repair work create problems. "If it were done according to a plan and gradually, then such incidents would not have occurred. And now half of the city is closed, so I have to violate the rules", – one of the drivers shared his opinion.
