Owner of a house attacked policemen

In the village of Velyky Bychkiv, Rakhiv district, a drunk houseowner attacked police officers. Criminal proceeding over this fact has been opened. 

Yesterday, on October 7, the police received a report from a 23-year-old resident of Velyky Bychkiv. The man told me that he had stabbed people who were trying to break into his house.

The patrol police response team and the investigation team arrived at the scene. The policemen did not find anyone in the house. During the visual inspection of the yard, the owner of the house armed with a wooden board attacked the policemen. The man was in a state of intoxication.

The police retrained the assailant and arrested him in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.

Information about the breaking into the man’s house was not confirmed.

Currently, the man is in a temporary detention facility. A criminal offense was opened under Part 3 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Threatening or violence against a law enforcement officer). The investigation continues.
