35 Ukrainian law enforcers, who were captured by terrorists in the east of the country, may be exchanged for captured militants. This was stated by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights Valeriy Patskan, as reported in the programme "Special Correspondent" on 2+2.
According to the MP, the negotiations are being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the fact of negotiations concerning the release of hostages, but stressed that this process takes time. But, for obvious reasons, they can not disclose any details of the operation.
They also refused to comment the statement of the deputy. Patskan himself says about the alleged agreement to release soldiers from the battalion of territorial defense "Aidar" and other armed entities.
In addition, according to the deputy, they have a chance to release not only law enforcers, but also civilians who were captured by militants for political beliefs.
