The Head of the Regional State Administration met with the General Director of the regional forests directorate of Sabolch-Satmar-Beregska and Debretsen regions of the Hungarian Republic Arpad Sholochi and the former head of directorate Gabor Kovach on Tuesday, April 24. The chief forester of Transcarpathia Igor Fizyk and the director of ‘Uzhgorod State Forestry’ Ivan Kostiv also attended the meeting – informs the press service of RSA.
During the meeting both sides pointed out the qualitative level of cooperation in the forest fields of both countries. This particularly concerns foresters coordinated actions during floods. Recently Ukraine and Hungary started to collaborate productively in the sphere of hunting.
– At the Intergovernmental Commission issues of collaboration in order to preserve the forest is never ignored. Recently, the President and State Secretary of Hungary highly appreciated the joint work of our region foresters and industry experts from the border region of Hungary during his visit to Transcrpathia – said Alexandr Ladyda.
During the meeting they mentioned the painful issue for both countries – the threat of flooding.
Very often people blame foresters in natural disasters – but it is a mistake – says Arpad Sholochi. – Nowadays the forest field experts are working hard in order to protect the region from the large water by conducting rational logging, restoring plantations on the designated territories.
During the meeting the forestry representatives of Hungary received a gift from the Transcarpathian colleagues – a collection of seeds of 80 types of trees and bushes that grow in the Transcarpathian forests. This collection was gathered by the pupils from the school forest area of the region for the Regional School of Forestry of Hungarian Republic.
