“Open tours” invite to the museum

 Today, June 22, Open tours invite to the Zoological Museum of the Uzhgorod National University, the Tourinform Transcarpathia informed.

It was founded in 1945  At first, the exhibition collection of mammals, birds, fish, insects and other animals was created on the basis of exhibits of Uzhgorod, Mukachevo and Beregovo gymnasiums and gifts from various scientific institutions of the country. During the period of its existence, the museum and its exhibition have been constantly replenished by the expeditions (Caucasus, White Sea, Azerbaijan, the Volga basin, Askaniya Nova). Also, they have exchanged exhibits with the zoological museums of Odessa, Tashkent, Tomsk, Lviv, Moscow, Samarkand.

Thus, the exhibition halls of the Zoological Museum now feature about 5000 items. In addition, the collection of more than 150 thousand units of insects, fish, birds and mammals are preserved in storage rooms.
