Analytical department of "Tourinform Transcarpathia" conducted a survey among tourists visiting Uzhgorod during the period of sakura blossoming.
It may be noted that the demand for "Sakura blossom period in Uzhgorod" tours has not increased compared to the last year. At the same time, the price of tours has increased by 12 – 15%.
Analysis of tours and tour operators for a period of sakura blossom in Uzhgorod, demonstrates that Uzhgorod was just an additional attraction in Lviv tours.
According to the experts of "Tourinform Transcarpathia", the main problem of rather passive tour promotion is the lack of vacancies in hotels on 27 – 28 of April. Most of them were bought by participants of "Uzhgorod Open" DanceSport tournament. That is, already in February it was impossible to book rooms, and therefore to plan tours. Companies found the way out of the situation by booking rooms in Mukachevo and suburbs, but the attractiveness of the tour was lower.
The interview of tourists visiting Uzhgorod on April, 27 – 28 showed a clear trend that this year 35% of those who visited the city said that the main motivation for them was the desire to see sakura blossom. Overall, 45% of visitors were satisfied with their stay in Uzhgorod.
On a negative side, 30% of tourists have noted problems with the roads in Transcarpathia (specification – beyond main routes, meanwhile the road in Transcarpathia is better than that outside the region), 27% of tourists noted dust in the air.
