On Wednesday, September 13, the Regional State Administration held a meeting chaired by the Deputy Head Mykhailo Popovich on the state of inventory and monetary valuation of the land in the region. The event was attended by the advisor to the Head of the State Agency for Land Resources of Ukraine Oleksandr Filatov.
Discussion of land issues started in Monday during a conference call involving the advisor to the President of Ukraine Oleksandr Nyefyodov. And on Wednesday the RSA brought together representatives of departments of agriculture, forestry, land committee to outline the main achievements and problems in this area.
The meeting participants discussed the question of land titling, streamlining of land records, land inventory in the region, creating a digital cartographic database.
– In modern times the need in the prompt update of the information is constantly increasing, the land area is no exception. Land, natural resources, which are affected by the expanding production, require an effective control system. General knowledge is no longer enough, modernity requires as detailed information about land use as possible, – said Mykhailo Popovich.
Extremely important for the region is the inventory of agricultural land, considering the fact that the percentage of rural residents in the area is higher than in Ukraine overall (63% vs. 32%). In contrast, of the total land fund of Transcarpathia, which is 1.275 million hectares, 57% is a forest, and only 37% is agricultural land.
Measures concerning land reform in the regions will also be analyzed and systematized by district departments of the State Land Committee, local administrations.
