One of the artistic family is in Uzhgorod for Transcarpathians

The main Transcarpathian museum invites to the exhibition of a representative of the famous artistic family of Sholtes.

This weekend, the exhibit space of the Transcarpathian Regional Art Museum are decorated with paintings of the Honored Artist of Ukraine, co-founder of the Association of professional artists of Transcarpathia Stepan Sholtes.

Dozens of fans of his talent came to the opening of the solo exhibition marking the 55th anniversary of the creative activity of the known and respected artist.

"It’s hard not to become an artist when the best example is your own father – a natural teacher, and one of the most talented artists of Transcarpathia – Zoltan Sholtes. Having recevied a artisitic genes from his father, from early childhood Stepan was not only growing in the world of fine art, but also discovering treasures of his native land’s nature, its most cherished places" – art critic Lyudmyla Biksey said at the opening.

At the opening ceremony, the museum director Francisk Erfan, the chairman of Transcarpathian regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Boris Kuzma and others were talking about the creative credo of the artist, his multifaceted talent as an artist, architect, and active public figure.

The exhibition features picturesque landscapes of the Carpathian mountains, sacred pictures of folk architecture gems – Transcarpathian churches, chamber watercolors of cozy corners of old Uzhgorod created by him over the last 2-3 years.
