On the Veretsky pass, a Hungarian athlete shot arrows for the “friendship of peoples” (PHOTO)

On the Veretsky pass (where Volovets district of Transcarpathian borders with Skole district of Lviv region), a Hungarian event took place. A few dozen people gathered near the famous monument installed in honor of the arrival of the Hungarians to the Carpathian Basin. Mostly, those who came from the neighboring state. The occasion was the 160th anniversary of the artist Arpad Feszty, who created the famous in Hungary painting – panorama of Hungarian tribes coming to the Carpathians – and the 120th anniversary of the actual painting. The world champion in archery Jozsef Monus took part in the event. The Hungarian athlete is known for bowing in unusual places and at different events. At the Veretsky pass, he shot seven arrows (the number of Hungarian tribes that crossed the Carpathians). He devoted the second arrow to the friendship of peoples. During the event, it was stressed that politics was in no way involved in it. There were no flags, no protests at the event.
