On the Tisa, another batch of smuggled cigarettes was detained

Officers of the "Tyachiv" unit of the Mukachevo detachment learned about possible illegal activity at the border from the locals. The response team, which immediately arrived at the scene, late on Saturday arrested our compatriot. The offender was stopped 30 meters away from the border line on the Tisa river with 8 boxes of cigarettes. After a while, border guards of the same unit together with MIA officers stopped a car "Toyota" registered in Germany, in which another Ukrainian was carrying 8 boxes of cigarettes.

And in Bukovina, border guards and customs officers prevented the attempt of illegal export of cigarettes to Romania via the checkpoint "Porubne." A 31-year-old Romanian driving a "SEAT" chose the "green corridor", but his car was sent to an in-depth inspection. During the inspection in a specially made cache they found nearly 2,000 packs of cigarettes "VECEROY". The car, made in 2003, and the cigarettes were confiscated. The confiscated items were assessed at more than 35,000 UAH.
