On the railway stretch Skole-Hrebeniv (Lviv region), five cars of a train derailed, two of them fell into the Opir river from the bridge. This was announced on Monday, December 14, by the press service of the Lviv regional state administration.
"On the 1595th km of the railway stretch Skole-Hrebeniv of the state territorial association "Lviv railway" first five cars of the freight train №1615 Lviv-Chop loaded with iron ore derailed," – the statement says.
The press service specified that two cars had fallen from the railway bridge into the river, one ran into the river bank and two derailed.
Also, they informed that a telephone line and about 250 meters of the roadway had been damaged, railway traffic was not delayed, trains are running in reverse mode on the adjacent track.
As it became known later, in the morning of December 14, repair crews lifted four cars, the work continues. Railway traffic was not delayed, trains are running in reverse mode on the adjacent track.
Nobody was injuried in the accident, experts are now establishing the cause of the accident.
