On the Gongadze commemoration day, Transcarpathian journalists signed an appeal to the President and the security forces

In Uzhgorod, journalists gathered on Teatralna Square to commemorate their deceased colleagues.

The chairman of the local branch of the Independent Media Trade Union announced data on the number of journalists who were killed, tortured, held captive… Then, a moment of silence… Father Vladislav said a prayer in the name of journalists who laid their lives for the truth. And after that, media workers together with the priest lit memorial candles.

Following the event, they read out a formal appeal to the President, the Interior Minister and the Prosecutor General to investigate the beatings of journalists during the events on the Maidan. The participants put their signatures under the document.
