Transcarpathian regional office of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has provided recommendations to specialized retailers regarding pricing for eggs during May holidays.
Particular attention is paid to the pricing of eggs as they are at risk of unjustified price increase given the significant increase of demand on the eve of Easter.
Thus, in order to ensure a stable price situation and reduce the negative effects of price fluctuations on chicken and egg market and to prevent violations of the legislation on economic competition protection, the Office recommended 6 largest economic entities – specialized retailers to refrain from unjustified egg price increase and from actions that may contribute to such increase.
The entities shall notify the Office on the consideration of recommendations in ten days.
