November 30, 2014, at checkpoint "Tisa" on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, border guards found out a car that our compatriot was trying to import to Ukraine with a forged number body.
In the course of the in-depth inspection of a minibus "Mercedes", the inspection group found signs of forged identification number of the car body. The driver, using a home-made plate with a number, tried to conceal the original vehicle identification number. Later, another sign of forgery was found: a fake sticker, that duplicates the number of the car body, was pasted over the original one.
The report of the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (destruction, falsification or replacement of vehicle assemblies and units) was sent to the investigation department of Uzhgorod District Police. Also, in order to check the specified minibus in databases for stolen vehicles, they sent a request to the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau sector at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region.
The investigation is ongoing.
