On the border with Slovakia, a “people’s car” was confiscated

Officers of the Chop detachment, at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on Ukrainian-Slovak border, prevented illegal import of a van to Ukraine.

The information on the possible illegal transaction was received by border guards in advance. Upon the arrival of the minivan "Volkswagen" for the border and customs control, the examination of the documents for the car and its complete identification was conducted. As a result of these measures, the border guards noticed some discrepancies in the letter of authorization for operation of the car that was issued in the Czech Republic. However, having sent a request to the notary, they received a reply that the registration number of the document was invalid.

As a result, the car made in 2004 was confiscated according to the law. Its value is currently being established.
