Today in the morning a car crashed into the fence railing on the embankment near to the pedestrian bridge – exactly where the famous mini-sculpture Mikolajczyk "lives". Bronze festive character, fortunately, suffered only a slight shock, the plate is not damaged.
It happened around 5 o’clock in the morning, and despite the fact that on the Teatralna sq. there is a CCTV, they failed to establish what car caused such an accident.
And right now the "salvation" of Mikolajczyk’s "home" continues. The workers restore railing fence, perform welding works.
Meanwhile, the question arises to services – how did the car, that ran into Mikolajczyk near the bridge and thus almost flew to the shore, appeare on the square (which, of course, is the pedestrian only zone) at night? By the way, this year an unfortunate incident happened with another mini-sculpture (also by Mykhailo Kolodko) – a chestnut branch fell on Franz Liszt figure, which "settled" on the fence railing near the Philharmonic. The sculpture then disappeared, and after a certain time rather mysteriously returned into place.
