On Sunday everyone can be screened for hepatitis near the Radvanska bridge

The campaign, during which everyone can take rapid testing for hepatitis C, will be held near the vehicle bridge from the beach side in Radvanka, on July 28 (Sunday) at 16.00.

On the occasion of World Day, anyone will be able to take free test for hepatitis C, receive practical advice on the prevention and diagnosis of viral hepatitis from a physician assistant and themed memos and booklets.

Also, every citizen, who will take a test, will be able to support the demands of the campaign by signing the petition to the President and the Government of Ukraine to finally approve a Government social program to combat the spread of viral hepatitis.

According to the calculations, in Ukraine, more than 3.5 million people are infected with viral hepatitis. Of those, about 1.2 million are with hepatitis C. The infection often occurs through unsterile medical and dental instruments. Most people are unaware that they are infected: in 80% of cases, the disease is asymptomatic, invisible to a person and reaches chronic stage, which ends with cirrhosis and liver cancer. Due to limited competition (only two pharmaceutical companies have the right to produce drugs to treat hepatitis), the cost of treatment in Ukraine is $ 14,000. This price is unaffordable for most of our citizens and often causes fear or reluctance to undergo examination.
