On New Year’s Eve, Transcarpathian police detained their colleague drunk driving

In Mukachevo, a drunk major of the economic police driving a car with Slovak license plate drove into the ditch and tried to flee the scene, but was arrested.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region.

The incident occurred on December 31 at 4 am at the intersection of Pryashivska-Velikohirna streets in Mukachevo.

"When the police patrol arrived at the scene, the car driver tried to flee. He was caught. The driver was intoxicated. The drunk man said that he was a police officer. As it turned out, it was a 30-year-old major of the economics protection department in Transcarpathian region," – the statement reads.

Also, the press service noted that the major was trying to "make a deal" with his colleagues, who detained him, and resisting, and the policemen had to handcuff him.

"The police officers drew up 4 reports agaist the driver: for violation of traffic rules, driving without documents and being intoxicated, resisting the police", – the police informed, adding that the officer would probably lose his job.
