On New Year’s Eve, four babies were born in Uzhgorod

The New Year’s Eve in the maternity hospital was not too "hot" this time. The first baby to be born in the new year in Uzhgorod was a boy.

In total, New Year’s Eve became the beginning of life for two boys and two girls.
The first birth was recorded at 0.55 in the first maternity ward. A woman from Rakhiv gave birth to a boy weighing 1,200 g. After a long break, the first baby crying was heard in the second maternity ward. At 3.00, the first girl weighing 3 kg was born. Following her, a baby boy weighing 3,150 g was born. And the foursome of babies born on New Year’s Eve was closed by a girl weighing 3,150 g too.

As for statistics, overall, 2014 was a record year in terms of the number of births at the Uzhgorod city maternity hospital. In 2014, doctors delivered 4024 newborns. It is now the absolute record.  In 2014, however, Uzhgorod city maternity hospital failed to beat the number of newborns on the New Year’s Eve (recall that last year, three boys and three girls were born om January 1).
