Apparently, there’s something deeply symbolic in the fact that on May 9 Transcarpathian journalists set off to visit temples in Svalyava district. After the Second World War Transcarpathians were on opposing sides: they fought in the Hungarian, Soviet armies, in the Czechoslovak corps, in the rows of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. Therefore, on the Victory Day we have to talk about reconciliation and the memory of the fallen, no matter what coat they were wearing when death found them.
It is not the first time that Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese is organizing such familiarization trips for journalists. Indeed, it is thanks to them Transcarpathians have the opportunity to learn more about the religious life of the region. There were already the trips around Velikiy Berezniy district, Perechin district, journalists acquainted with the Greek-Catholic Uzhgorod and Mukachevo. And now the turn of the resort Svalyava district came.
On May 9, journalists together with the head priest Milan are going to visit Svaliava, Stroynoe, Nelipino, Golubino, Ploskoe, Olenevo and Rudnikivka.
